Camera file size problem

I use a file transfer program on my iPhone 5C to get picture files into my Mac Mini.

Usually these photo files are from 1.6 to around 2 MB in size - but just recently have shrunk to around 3KB maximum !

I think I may have altered some setting, but have looked unsuccessfully to find it - can anyone offer help to get my picture file sizes back to the old, detailed, size ?
