Hey guys,
Is there a way to blur images in Pages (either 4.3 or 5.5.3)?
I know you can set the opacity, but that's not really the same as blurring...

Blur it (or a copy) in another App.
In Preview in Adjust Color you can drag Sharpness to the extreme left. Not really enough blurring for my taste, you will be better off using another bitmap editor, there are plenty around.

A possible work around (pending usage) - duplicate the photo you want to blur (matte), adjust the opacity to 50% (more or less), lay it back over the original (adjust layers so it's above), and offset it by 1 pixel or 2 or 3. Not the best but may work for you.
In Pages '09
select the image > Menu > View > Adjust Image > drag Sharpness to the left
Not surprising this has been totally removed from Pages 5.5.3
The 100+ removed features is 100+ + 1 more.

You will need an application other than Pages that can apply a selected blur filter to your image. That application might be the free Image Tricks Lite (Quartz Blur filter) from the OS X App Store, or GIMP, Photoshop, Pixelmator, etc.
