Disk space after forced quit of ITUNES while synchronizing

While I was synchronizing my Ipad, ITUNES stop working and I had to force quit and re-initiate. Suddenly more than 10 GB of my hard disk have disappeared, I rebooted, etc etc and still they are missing, I guess some temp files are around, but do not know how to find them or clean them, appreciate your help 🙂
