So i have a 13 hours flight in 19 days and i bought LOTR trilogy on my ipad air 2. I was wondering will my ipad be able to play the movies without having to charge it again. My ipad is always on airplane mode with medium brightness and no SIM card

According to many reviews online (as well as Apple), the iPad Air 2 will be able to get 10 hours of constant use so you may want to take a 3 hour nap on the flight.

There are external batteries that you can buy. ZaggSparq is one but there are plenty of others. Just be sure to shop for one that has enough power for an iPad (there are a lot of phone ones that won't give you the extra power you need)
You could also research your flight. Some planes have in flight power you can tap into. Check with your airline on that.
