why can't i make an iCloud backup from my phone? (iphone 5c)

I have been trying to manually back up my Iphone 5c but i cannot do it. I have tried everything.

It backs up automatically but i want to be able to change the settings as well.

(I know i can do it through Itunes but i still want to know how to do it manually in case i am not around a computer.)
