Cannot scan from Brother DCP-7065DN to MacBook Pro OS X Yosemite

I am having trouble scanning from my Brother multi-function printer, model #DCP-7065DN using Ethernet to my Macbook Pro OS X Yosemite. I can print fine. All updates have been installed on the computer and printer & scanner software. Just to be sure, I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and scanner drivers from the Brother website. I have tried restarting my computer and the printer. It does not show up as a device in Mac's Preview or Image Capture, or Brother's ControlCenter or BRAdmin. It doesn't seem to be connecting, but I can't figure out why not, especially when the printer is working fine. I used to be able to scan using this printer, but I haven't in a long time. I'm thinking I haven't since updating to Yosemite.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Brother MFP Model DCP-7065DN
