passcode for new iphone 6

My new iphone just arrived and the battery was out of juice so I charged it over night.

Now the phone displays "iPhone requires your passcode after restarting".

But it's a brand new iphone and I have not setup anything.

What is the passcode for new iPhone? (I didn't know there is one).

Shouldn't be that way. Send it back. For some reason you got one that wasn't new. Who / Where did you buy it from?

Did you actually purchase this from Apple or somewhere else? There shouldn't be a passcode set up on a new device. It sounds like it may have been used and then repackaged as new.
