why does dashboard always crash

I have a rather annoying problem with Dashboard on my iMac (Mavericks): It always crashes and gives me the message that Dashboard was unexpectedly ended while using the plug-in UnityPlayer.

If that weren't enough: This error report keeps popping up repeatedly even after I sent it off.

How can I stop this and get dashboard to function as it was intended to do? I think that it has been this way since I installed Mavericks, but am not sure. It is inconvenient and I try to avoid using it, but sometimes I activate it by mistake.

Thanks for your help

Regards,

Kim

The Unity Player is a third-party item that is not included in OS X.

Said to enable fast 3D viewing, it may be removed without harm

to the OS X if nothing else is accidentally done in the process.

You may have to locate the item and its parts, and move them to Trash

then restart the computer. Unless there is an official uninstaller from them.

So if you didn't put it there, someone else did. And if it was downloaded

from cnet, softonic, or other untoward sources that may include Adware

then you may need to check into adware removal guide and other items

such as are recommended here in ASC discussions. thesafemac
