Q: Powerbeats headphones with apple watch drops connection

I have successfully paired a new Dr Dre Powerbeats headphones. I am at the gym working out. I just have the Apple Watch and Dr Dre Powerbeats headphones. I can play Itunes songs from the watch. I find that movement on a weighted crunch machine at the gym causes the Apple Watch to drop the bluetooth signal with the headphones. This would only occur at a full extension. I return to the starting position, and the watch would re-sync with the headphones.

This same issue happened when around other metal equipment. The next day I used my headphone paired with my Ipod touch. I didn't experience any drops with the Ipod touch. Any thoughts? Will a software update fix this issue?

Apple Watch, iOS 8.3

I have this same issue with the Plantronics BackBeat Go 2....it's really frustrating.  Last night mowing the lawn the connection kept disconnecting then re-connecting.  not sure what the deal is but it needs to maintain connection consistently.

I have the same problem with my powerbeat 2 head phone where the Bluetooth will drop and tries to reconnect at the gym.  The watch lags syncing with my phone and finally will not copy any songs to the watch.  The watch is now at the shop just having it for 3 days! How disappointing:(

I Have the same issue when running with the Apple Watch and Plantronics Backbeat FIT. When running with the iPhone 6 the problem is nonexistent. It's only when paired with the watch.  When the watch is paired with a Bluetooth speaker it is fine, just when running with the headphones Is there an issue.

I have same issue with Backbeat fit headphones-very inconsistent play back from Apple Watch when my arm goes down to my waist-if I hold arm up like when I used to hold iphone it plays ok. Seems like distance has to stay within 2 feet.

Note I am using Apple Watch 1.0 version since folks complaining about 1.0.1

While not a great fix, I noticed that when I switch and wear my watch on my right wrist the problem goes away altogether. Presumably the Backbeat bluetooth receiver is on the right earbud.

yes this helped me too-putting it on the right arm helped-clearly its a distance from the watch issue with Backbeat Fit when in watch workout mode. Apple pls fix!

Sadly I'm in the same boat.  Currently return ing my Powerbeats 2 due to the volume buttons no longer working.  I can connect the Beats to the phone without a problem, but unfortunately the Apple watch does not work with keeping a consistent signal with the headphones.  Really disappointed in both of these products.

Yup glad to see there are others with the same issue i have its weird when im in the gym just like others I have the same issue and i have wireless powerbeats 2 and wireless studio 2 with the same problem its not the head phones cause when paired with my iphone 6 plus my other phone my note 4 no issue and when i previously had a samsung gear s watch no issues but with my with apple watch after a good 15-20 minutes I'm dropping connection which is very frustrating when working out but i noticed when i connect my apple watch and my h-phones outside the gym i don't have a problem Apple have also sent me another watch with the same problem so they HAVE to do something in an update that will solve this problem seriously. I currently have numerous tickets open with apple care to try solve my issue if possible.

The same thing happens to me. I'll connect my powerbeats 2 wireless to my watch, leave my phone in the gym locker, and every 10 seconds it disconnects and re-connects. It's so frustrating.

I did notice that if I put my phone on airplane mode before putting it in the locker so that my watch isn't connected to the phone at all I get a more stable connection with the headphones -- which *****, because that defeats the entire purpose of having the watch on in the first place.

I wonder if the phone and the watch somehow compete for the bluetooth connection when in range of each other. who knows. there needs to be a fix asap.

Plantronics BackBeat Fit & Apple Watch 1.0.1 Same issue cutting in and out as everyone else while running with Watch on my left wrist. Move watch to right wrist, and connection is solid. Strangely, walking or standing still with Watch on my left wrist is fine. It's only when I'm moving my arm at the pace of a run. Very frustrating.
