Playing / Importing Files

Hi All. I'm new in this forum, this is my first question.

Ex: I have a music file in my local disk. When I click in "Open with iTunes", this track is imported in my iTunes Library. That's ok.

My question is: where is the file, now? iTunes will copy this file for some place in iTunes folder, or just will create a link between the library and the original file?

I searched the file in the iTunes folder, but it's not in there.

Best Regards.

Hi Limmos. Thank you for you help

That's exactly my point. I played a track stored in my shared storage. It was a test, because my library is stored in my local disk. The track was imported to my library. So, when I follow your tip (Show in Finder), the file was NOT copied to iTunes folder, and has been show in my shared storage.

PS: The option to keep iTunes organized and copy files to iTunes media is disabled.

Best Regards.
