How can I get my new Ipad air to turn back on?

Are you sure it has a charge? Try holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If that does not work, then try connecting it to the charger for a minimum of 30 minutes and then while still connected to charger, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The iPad should reboot.
