Macbook Pro dead????

My MB Pro A1260 just crashed. screen just froze, nothing was working, mouse froze as well. Pressed the power button to shut down. waited a few sec and pressed power button to boot up.... except nothing... total blank screen. (NO blue screen, NO icon, nothing!!).. expect the power light in front is lit.

The hard drive would start to spin and than i hear a click noise, than it stops spinning and starts to spin again and stops again.

Thinking it might be a hard drive issue, took out the drive and hooked it up to a HD enclosure and plugged it into a newer MackBook, and the HD showed up on the desktop, like a regular external HD... so not a hd drive failure.

Took another/different HD that has the boot OS installed and placed it in the A1260, same thing. HD would spin and stop, screen is blank (black), keyboard light is off... nothing on screen

Inserted the boot up disc... what a mistake that was.... did not work. screen still blank and cd just spins as well.... now the CD is stuck and will not eject.

HELP... HELP... is the MacBook A1260 dead?....
