Q: iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

So a couple days ago, my iPhone 6+ began having intermittent screen responsiveness. First time, I received a phone call and couldn't answer it because the swipe wouldn't work. I turned it off and back on with no luck. I reset it and that fixed it. That was the only issue that day. I the last few days it's becoming more frequent. Today alone I've had to reset it eight times.

What it's doing;

  • touch screen is unresponsive to touch entirely.
  • touch screen responds after a delay
  • I tap an app icon and the app two rows up opens instead.
  • from loch screen-can't answer phone calls or notifications.

Sometimes it just leave it alone and come back to it and it's fine. Sometimes I leave it alone and come back with same result and I have to reset it. Sometimes I reset it once and trying to unlock with touchscreen (because touch ID doesn't work after reset) doesn't work so I reset it twice. It has worked after the second time, so far.

The phone is in perfect condition. Never been dropped. Was updated to 8.3 the day it was released so the issue didn't arise immediately after an update.

Anyone having these issues?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

HI to all my fellow iPhone 6 plus owners

I am now very happy, blessed, & excited to announce that since having contact or I should say making contact with y'all and finding out that I wasn't the only one experiencing these issues, thru trial and error and let's see umm my hubby and I ordered 3 different lcd screens for iPhone 6 plus via ebay (meaning he bought an entire screen/lcd along with all the pieces still intact like camera and home button instead of just a screen cuz that's all complicating and stressful cuz the parts r so small, anyways this whole issue didn't start till I had accidentally dropped my phone and cracked the entire screen and my hubby had to order me a brand new lcd/touchscreen with the home button and camera and such still intact and got it from ebay and it was working great then next thing I know it was being unreponsive and couldn't unlock it or answer calls so my poor hubby God bless him had to order another screen and once again take my phone apart and install it with new screen and again he bought this 2nd screen off ebay and then this second screen starting doing the same **** as the first and omg we were so mad! Cuz it's like we were sent ****** screens cuz both were found with minor issues that weren't so minor because of the fact that I couldn't even use my phone! I don't know how long he and I went back and forth btwn screens cuz he is a tech wiz and it would work fine for a while but always would end up starting to be unreponsive and everything so then God bless his heart My hubby finally decided enough is enough and ordered another screen from eBay and this time this screen has been perfect and functioning great!   God bless my hubby and the place we got this screen from  ...so i don't know if any of y'all didn't have the same issues till y'all had to have your screens replaced like me, But either way this help discussion really helped me educating myself on this issue and got me thru it cuz I was so close to saying screw it I obviously don't deserve a iPhone and wanted to just throw my iPhone out the window! I am glad i didn't do that cuz I do love my ipbone and I do have an iPad mini and they r both my most fav smartphone and tablets!  I am an Apple girl all the way! God bless

This seriously reads (as much as it's readable) like an advertisement for your husband's iPhone repair business.

Think we need to know about credible iPhone repair businesses because Apple for sure is not one.

Does it refuse to repair its products because it thinks we are so in awe of its God like powers that we will keep on buying its stuff year after year regardless of how disinterested its after sales service is? If so, it's business will eventually fail and will deserve to.

THe editor for this forum is a good example. Broken for years and never fixed.

Who (besides the business owner) decides that it is credible?

If I were trying to advertise a business, I think I would skip out on the part of having to do it 3 time before it worked

The customer of course and if this 'screen disease' issue keeps on growing suspect many more Apple customers will also learn about their lack of credibility on this issue.

Or is Apples new environmentally friendly policy of encourageing us to buy a new phone every year the way forward? Should certainly help its policy of refusing to repair older phones! Deeply cynical I think and a long way from being environmentally friendly despite the iPhones supposed recyclability.

So I have noticed that this problem arises whenever I update my facebook messenger app. My phone has started reponding again after like 2 days since I updated my messenger app. To those having the same problem, you might wanna uninstall your messenger app or just wait it out

I have been dealing with the sporadic, unresponsive screen (aka "touch disease", "screen disease") on my 6+ for over a year now.  I do not have apple care so I have just been living with it.  I have been seeing more and more articles on it being a really big issue for the 6 series of iPhones (11% of their Apple Store repairs).  When is apple going to recall these serial numbers.  I really feel like Apples doesn't care that they put out a faulty product.  Definitely makes me apprehensive to buy the 7 series.  iPhones seem to be getting less well made each generation. #recalliphone6

I had/have the same issue. Genius tech's said it was a manufacturer defect, but since my phone was older than a year they wouldn't cover it.

That's a HUGE let down and I hope more people post on here so that Apple can see and possibly do something about it. Let a refund or something because spending $700+ for a phone from Apple in the past to me meant that I was getting quality.
