Q: iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

So a couple days ago, my iPhone 6+ began having intermittent screen responsiveness. First time, I received a phone call and couldn't answer it because the swipe wouldn't work. I turned it off and back on with no luck. I reset it and that fixed it. That was the only issue that day. I the last few days it's becoming more frequent. Today alone I've had to reset it eight times.

What it's doing;

  • touch screen is unresponsive to touch entirely.
  • touch screen responds after a delay
  • I tap an app icon and the app two rows up opens instead.
  • from loch screen-can't answer phone calls or notifications.

Sometimes it just leave it alone and come back to it and it's fine. Sometimes I leave it alone and come back with same result and I have to reset it. Sometimes I reset it once and trying to unlock with touchscreen (because touch ID doesn't work after reset) doesn't work so I reset it twice. It has worked after the second time, so far.

The phone is in perfect condition. Never been dropped. Was updated to 8.3 the day it was released so the issue didn't arise immediately after an update.

Anyone having these issues?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

MY iPhone 6 Plus 64Gb was fine for near 11 months. Glad it started having issues before the warranty went out out. I started getting lines spanning across the top of my replacement phone screen but the worse

is the unresponsive touch screen. It seems to work if I leave the phone sit for a long time and is cool. Once I use it for a few minutes it randomly works or doesn't. I think there must be a loose connection. Back to the Apple Store Thursday after work. ***** I bought a $30 Tech 21 screen protector.

I am having the same problem. They replaced my phone last Thursday and here it is Tuesday and they lines are back on my brand new phone. So ****** right now. Apple Store closest to me is like 35miles away and I already had to go there twice... They need to figure out what is wrong. I am currently installing the ISO9. I didn't have it installed on either phone maybe it will help.

I can guarantee that updating the iOS will not help. I tried using iOS 9 and also redoing my public beta iOS 9.1 and it still didn't help. I have had my iPhone in a tech 21 case since day 1. I pocket my phone and never had any bend-gate issue. I go back Thursday for replacement 2. Might as well make an appointment fo

Sadly, I'm screwed if the replacement acts up. My warranty period expired on Monday, so I'm looking at $329 for a new one if this one screws up.

***** that these issues came up right at warranty time for those who got in on the first batch of phones last year.

I guess I'm lucky I have a work phone that I can use while mine is out of commission until tomorrow evening.

Add me to the list. I recently updated my 6+ to 9.1 and thought that was the issue, but it sounds like it is happening to lots of people. Mine started slowly at first, but today seems to be happening all the time. Flickering at the top of the screen, screen unresponsive, etc. I've tried hard resets, reinstalling the software, etc. I've always had the auto-brightness OFF on my phone, so that doesn't seem to be it either.

I got my phone from Best Buy in July due to a great deal they had on trading in my iPhone 5. Should I start with them, or just take it to the Apple Store? I just want the easiest/cheapest route to get this problem resolved!

I tired to go through Verizon first. They wanted to send me a refurbished phone. So I just called Apple cause I was worried the refurbished one would have the same software issue.

I'm going to try and contact my local Apple store today and see what they can do for me. I'm glad I found this thread. I was 99% sure it was the 9.1 upgrade causing the issue!

You are probably better off going to apple and make sure you make an appointment on their support site prior. Unless you have a protection plan thru Best Buy

I Am not sure if this has to do with ISO 9. I had ISO 8 still when my problem started. I just installed ISO 9 last night after problem started again to see if it would fix it.

As I posted earlier in the thread, Apple is aware of the problem.  person at the genius bar had one look at my phone and immediately gave me a replacement phone.  There is an issue at the hardware level causing it, version of iOS does not matter.

Mine started doing this off and on back on IOS 8.4 or so. Still doing it on IOS 9. Ordered my 6 + Sept 12th 2014 so it's out of warranty.. Any idea if I they could still give me a free replacement? I've never had a phone replaced.

I haven't seen any line issue with my phone. Only the touchscreen becoming unresponsive. It's pretty dang annoying.

    Thanks in advance
