Q: iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

So a couple days ago, my iPhone 6+ began having intermittent screen responsiveness. First time, I received a phone call and couldn't answer it because the swipe wouldn't work. I turned it off and back on with no luck. I reset it and that fixed it. That was the only issue that day. I the last few days it's becoming more frequent. Today alone I've had to reset it eight times.

What it's doing;

  • touch screen is unresponsive to touch entirely.
  • touch screen responds after a delay
  • I tap an app icon and the app two rows up opens instead.
  • from loch screen-can't answer phone calls or notifications.

Sometimes it just leave it alone and come back to it and it's fine. Sometimes I leave it alone and come back with same result and I have to reset it. Sometimes I reset it once and trying to unlock with touchscreen (because touch ID doesn't work after reset) doesn't work so I reset it twice. It has worked after the second time, so far.

The phone is in perfect condition. Never been dropped. Was updated to 8.3 the day it was released so the issue didn't arise immediately after an update.

Anyone having these issues?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

okay if  that is what you want to believe.  They are trying to cover up the issue.  Any comment mentioning apple design flaw and how the IC chips go bad get deleted.  Try for yourself, mention just the issue and what causes it.  Dont motion about replacing parts and your comment will get deleted!  There is a whole blog of people complaining about this apple particular forum and getting there comment deleted!

Apple services every phone with any hardware problem (except for screens and battery) by replacing the phone. The defective phone is then analyzed to determine the cause of the failure, and the aggregate of these failure modes is used to determine what (if any) remedial action is required.

Maybe that is the problem.  They are just treating these phones as if they have a bad screen and sending them on to the next unlucky customer as a replacement

OK, if that's what you want to believe. However, it's possible that you are wrong in your diagnosis, and that Apple has more information on it than you do. From the posts in this thread it appears that there is more than one possible cause, as other deleted posts mentioned other alternatives, but you haven't acknowledged that.

Okay Mr. Lawrence, this will be my last reply to you.  I have told you from what i've seen on this forum, its apparent they are trying to cover the issue.  I don't see apple acknowledging the fact that the iPhone 6+ has a lot of phones experiencing similar issues.  The ignore the problem and i fell like they are trying to cover it up.

You may be right that i might be wrong in my diagnosis, but please enlighten us on what can cause the issue!!   This will help thousands of people who will come on here in the near future panicking when their iPhone stops responding all of sudden!  And i don't want to mention other alternatives because i actually did my research due diligently before posting down to the model number of the chips so I will take that route with my iPhone regardless.

Remember that a lot of those places talking about your specific issue have an interest in telling you that your phone is messed up and that Apple won't replace it. A lot of them aren't certified Apple technicians, they may potentially be replacing your parts with parts of questionable origin, and they're almost definitely looking to sell you their services. If you have a warranty on your phone, you shouldn't be taking it there as your first bet. If you don't have a warranty, it's your phone do what you want, but know that as soon as that phone is opened up by a third-party you aren't getting any more help from Apple, and you're at the whim of the third party you got your repair from or other third parties.

    Just some advice.

The parts they use are not from Apple, because Apple won't supply uncertified repair shops with genuine parts. They are always of questionable origin.

Have you seen the inside of the iPhone? Most parts in there are not from Apple. (I had a list of ~ 8 suppliers here, but apparently those names are not permitted) are the main suppliers of parts, to name a few. Apple pretty much only provides, or at least "brands" the main CPU.

They are probably too busy deleting all the informative posts.

It is irrelevant which parts are manufactured by Apple.

Just because Apple doesn't manufacturer the parts themselves doesn't mean the parts aren't made under specific license to Apple.

Many of them are generic controllers with nothing special about Apple, so anyone can source the exact same parts from the same supplier knowing the part number.

On the other hand, many posts here (perhaps deleted?) talk about Apple-Refurbished phones with the same recurring issue or other forms of damage, so let's also not confuse Apple-provided solution with "quality".

Let's not confuse "solutions" from anonymous internet posters with "quality".

Definitely. The botched the job they did on my refurbished phone so bad that they wouldn't even warranty their own work.

Well, you're in Apples house now, so play nice. or go rant in someone else's house.
