Q: iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

So a couple days ago, my iPhone 6+ began having intermittent screen responsiveness. First time, I received a phone call and couldn't answer it because the swipe wouldn't work. I turned it off and back on with no luck. I reset it and that fixed it. That was the only issue that day. I the last few days it's becoming more frequent. Today alone I've had to reset it eight times.

What it's doing;

  • touch screen is unresponsive to touch entirely.
  • touch screen responds after a delay
  • I tap an app icon and the app two rows up opens instead.
  • from loch screen-can't answer phone calls or notifications.

Sometimes it just leave it alone and come back to it and it's fine. Sometimes I leave it alone and come back with same result and I have to reset it. Sometimes I reset it once and trying to unlock with touchscreen (because touch ID doesn't work after reset) doesn't work so I reset it twice. It has worked after the second time, so far.

The phone is in perfect condition. Never been dropped. Was updated to 8.3 the day it was released so the issue didn't arise immediately after an update.

Anyone having these issues?

Some do. And their users usually come back to Apple, as identified in posts in these forums. And I'm not convinced about "massive quantities." There are over 200 million iPhone 6/6+ models in use. Massive quantities would be 10%, or 20 million phones. I've seen no indication that there are even 1/10 of that number (2 million) that have reported this problem.

Well failing is one things and making a blunder is another. Apple made a manufacturing defect in iPhone 6 plus because of which so many are suffering and i think during the testing they should have checked it fully and researched about it before launching.

And secondly, Apple is replacing its iPhone because they launched another feature in 6 series i.e. of bending. And also they don't lose a penny in replacement as their products are so overpriced. And if Apple is so generous why don't he replace all the "unresponsive screen" iPhones for free ?

Deleted again.  It kills me how disingenuous Apple is being about this.

The Hosts, who are the ones who delete your posts are using one criterion only: did the post violate the Terms of Use. They have nothing to do with Apple policy about any specific issue you may have. Their sole concern is the forum.

All I did was reference a page number and a user name. Then I described the problem and the only obvious fix. How is that violating the terms?

I am not a Host. I don't recall seeing the post in question. However, if your post was removed for cause, you will receive an email explaining why. Check your spam filter. If your post was a reply to one that was removed for cause, you won't receive an email.

strange that Apple is censoring or trying their best to hush this up.....what's their motive? Why not admit an error. Even VW man up to their problem even at great cost to them. This is troubling and as investor, wondering if something bigger is at float. Is this the new Apple MO? I miss the quality and reliability of the old Apple. I bought the 128 Iphone 6 plus thinking it would last several years....just last 13 months before first episode in October...then again in March, then June....If you haven't had this pop up yet you will. It's a ticking time bomb.

Where is this "hush up" you are talking about? There are almost 900 posts about it in this thread alone, and several other threads also. If they were hushing it up the whole thread would be gone.

Apple's hosts remove posts that violate TOU. Period. The do not remove posts simply because they are critical of Apple. A reading of only part of this thread (or hundreds of other threads) would make that clear. When Apple removes your post they tell you why. Just read their emails. And note that 900 posts were NOT removed.

Well when you can't even reference a particular page number in this thread I would say it's more than a terms issue.  At this point I don't care, just got notificatipn that my package was delivered. I just feel bad for those that are coming here looking for answers.

    ACCESS DENIED elcpu.....  :-(

And you can not contact a poster on here.  :-(

Yes, people looking for solutions here....yes the phones out of warranty so what do we care about voiding the warranty? We want to fix the problem. When you take a car to a mechanic Ford isn't on the hook, why should Apple be?

They won't make anything better now. Its wise to switch to Samsung and thats what i am gonna do. In less than 2 year my iPhone 6 plus 128gigs is a waste now. Totally not worth.

Yes, a great idea. After all, Samsung products are perfect. The never fail, so there's no need of a warranty. And if you drop it and break it they will gladly replace it for free. Oh, wait - no they won't. They'll make you buy a new one for full price. Unlike Apple, who will offer you a replacement for less than half price.

Samsung phones are nice.  Not sure about warranty. Hopefully they will be unlike apple in the warranty and service dept.  That is my bigge st complaint with the 6 plus I had.  Any phone can develop a problem,  but I have never been treated so bad by customer service on something that is still under warranty
