Q: I connect my Retina Macbook Pro 2015 to my monitor and its off centered. What do I do?

I recently updated to a 13' Retina Macbook Pro, early 2015. I've tried connecting it to my VA2702W ViewSonic monitor and this is what I get:

Screen Shot 2015-05-05 at 1.16.08 PM.png

It's significantly more blurry stretched out to 1920x1080 on my monitor. I then tried holding down the option key while hitting "Scaled" and I set the monitor to 1920x1080. Instead of it filling the screen like my prior Mac did, there is a 2 and a half inch black bar on the left side of my monitor, and the right half of the screen is cut off (to the point where the search icon is not visible).

I used another laptop, a Retina Macbook Pro late 2013, for comparison, and it works perfectly on my monitor. I'm not sure what the deal is here. I know my Mac has 2 graphic cards (I believe?) and the late 2013 one does not. Not sure what to do here. Help?

Thanks.
