Hi all
I cannot change the Program Change of my MOTI7 (and my second keyboard Yamaha EX) connected to my midi interface Edirol UM-880 via Mainstage 3 (External Instrument).
By cons is possible when the MOTIF7 is directly connected to the Mac via the USB cable.
Please, can you help me ?
Create an external instrument channel strip by selecting the cog wheel in the upper right corner of the channel strip section. Select your MIDI output(in your case it would be the Edirol UM-880). In the channel strip inspector>MIDI output, select send program change and program change number.

I did it but nothing change...
Is the Motif in voice mode or performance mode? It will accept program changes in voice mode. In performance mode, you must send the Motif a sysex message for program changes. It's a lot more complex, but it can be done.
Motif (and EX) is in mode performance
It's strange because before Mainstage 3, I used Program Change with a midi sequencer (Roland SB55) and was all right.
On page 46 of the Motif data list manual:
Maybe your sequencer was sending the required data. In voice mode, it will receive program change numbers.
I found the problem. It was my midi interface. No merge existing between Midi in & USB... 😟

The Motif will accept program changes in performance or voice modes. It is master mode that requires a sysex message. Sorry if I misled you. Glad you found the problem.
