I needed more space for my macbook air, so I bought an external hard drive to store all my stuff in there. I have the 'My Passport for Mac' device, and I think I synced everything up, but how do I check and make sure that all of my information is saved correctly to the external hard drive? I need to make sure before I delete all of my information from my mac. PLEASE HELP

How are you backing up, what app are you using, is it Time Machine?
I backed it up using time machine.
Then unless Time Machine is still backing up, it's done.

Well, not exactly, Time Machine will delete files as space is needed, it will not delete them if they are still on your Mac, but they won't be in your case so the answer is no.
You need a drive for storage, Time Machine is not that.
