How do I turn my MacBook Air into a hard drive to export data to my macmini

i visited the apple shop today to learn how to migrate data from my old MacBook air to my new Mac mini without using the migration function


i was told to press a key and the letter T but I can't work out what function key was ?


can anyone help

They were probably telling you to startup in Target Disk Mode so the MBA becomes a source drive for the Mini: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH19021?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US


You can also just connect the two with an ethernet wire and the MBA will appear as a drive on the desktop of the Mini and you can drag and drop content that way.


Couple of options to accomplish the task.
