Compressor 4.2 hanging on startup

Last night I was running Compressor with no problems but have been trying to simply open Compressor for the last two hours with no luck. When opening Compressor, the shell of the program opens up in the background but the "welcome image" hangs on the foreground and I cannot do anything. When I right click on the icon it tells me that the application is not responding.

I have restarted my computer multiple times. Restarted Compressor multiple times, to no avail. I even reinstalled Compressor and still nothing.

Any ideas what might be causing this hanging?

Update: as I finished writing this out, Compressor finally loaded, it appears that I had an old batch stuck from last night and it was having issues trying to load it.
