I have an update pending that I don't want. How do I decline it?

I have an update pending for camera RAW that is not needed. How do I decline the notice of this or any unwanted update?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Just ignore it. There is not an option to decline an update, just don't download it.

Didn't try it, but if as root (or sudo) in the console on the Mac you give the App file to root, and ensure anybody can read but not write, then the iTunes shouldn't be able to update it.

If you updated it on the iPhone, delete it (only on iPhone!) and sync with the Mac => the old version should be re-installed on the iphone.

To prevent an App update directly on the iPhone would - IMO- require a jailbreak.
