mouse and keyboard not working ubuntu

hello, I have set up my mac with dual boot os x yosemite and ubuntu 14.04.2. The thing is that when in Ubuntu I cannot seem to pair the mouse and keyboard. In ubuntus bluetooth manager the keyboard and mouse appear flashing briefly, so that i cannot select them. How do I solve this?
