photos can not find the system photo library -Since may/5 that is the message I get when I am trying to open photos on my iMac
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Launch Photos with the Option key held down and see what library or libraries are shown in the Open window:
Do you see the system photo library listed there?
Thanks Toad. I did that but I can not see any library listed.
Did you run any updates or upgrades on or just before May 5th? Do you have an external HD that you use?
Do you have a backup of your hard drive from just before May 5 that you can use to restore the library?
The default location for your Photos library is in your Pictures folder. If it is in there, double click it and it will open. If you used an external drive or a different location to store your photos library than I would suggest looking there.
