In my writing, I use many foreign terms that are unfamiliar to most people. They are also unfamiliar to Pages. Each time I type in a foreign term, Pages thinks I have misspelled the word and substitutes an English word that has a similar spelling. Even when I go back and correct Pages' error, it does it again. How can I fix this irritating situation?

Have you set Edit ▸ Spelling and Grammar ▸ Show Spelling and Grammar to switch Automatic by Language. For this to work at all, you will need to have at least, Check Spelling While Typing enabled. If this is Pages v5, it may decide to continue punishing you — regardless of settings.
Turn off "correct spelling automatically" if you can find it in the Edit menu.
Good suggestion -- except for the fact that I can't find that comm and to turn it off. But thanks.
