I Cannot start to run my computer.
i get a blank screen with a flickering grey file symbol and a question mark,
nothing happens when I hit the key pad
it runs OX 10.6.8 snow Leopard
HELP anybody!

The Mac cannot find the operating system to use for startup...get your Snow Leopard Install disk that came with the iMac, and restart holding the C key so you startup on the install DVD. You can then choose to reinstall Mac OS X and see if that fixes the broken files.
The scrren is blank with a grey file symbol and a question mark!
