Macbook Pro won't start up when power is attached
I bought a new Macbook Pro two months ago and it was problematic from the start. I took it to the nearest Genius bar, but it wouldn't do its annoying habits on cue, so I brought it home again, until it went really insane. Yesterday, the Genius bar staff found out all about its problems, and I waited for two hours while they replaced the hard drive and cable.
Unfortunately, it is still having the same issues: it is randomly shutting down, and pressing the power button won't start it up unless I hold it down for at least ten seconds. However, this is when the power cable is attached. When the power cable isn't attached, it starts up ok, but if I attach the power cable again, it goes into shut down.
Does anyone know what the problem might be, and how replacing the hard drive and HD cable didn't fix it? It's driving me crazy now, and the thought of having to spend any more time waiting in the Apple shop makes me feel nauseous (as helpful and nice as the staff are!) . . .
Any encouragement/advice/suggestions most gratefully received.
