The Mac App Store page says the App is FREE [last updated Apr 03, 2015] > https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ifax-send-receive-faxes/id553823587?mt=12

Bait & Switch?

  1. I don't know. Dispute the charge with your Credit Card Issuer.
  2. Report the issue to Apple "account and charges" > Store Group - Contact Us - Apple Support

If you cannot get a response from Crowded Road < http://www.ifaxapp.com/ > - there are likely other fish in the sea = search the App Store

Thank you very much. The app is free to download, but each time you use it, they will charge you first, and ask you to login, then fax.

I did post a question to their website, and got an email saying I got a response, but I did not see it all.

I"ll wait a day or so, then I"ll follow your link to contact apple store if no response.

OK. You posted to the open forum or the contact 'form'. If the latter, the form submission likely has an "autoresponder" function involved - let's you know that the submit was successful and MAYBE gets your hopes up that they will answer - let's hope they do.

I see the business model clearly now - give the fax 'machine' and then pay each time. If your issue is that the app has jumbled up your login credentials, they will surely have to deal with it.

I'll wait with you and take interest in the outcome (or progress ? reports)

Hi Chitlins,

Since I did need to fax out that day, so I just used the regular fax machine (having to try few times to go through and that is why I want to use software that can automatically sent).

1. So I contacted https://reportaproblem.apple.com to get the charge credit back to me.

2. Yes, it could be an auto responder from iFax company. And got reply email today saying there is a "more" button that can show forgot password. So I am able to reset my password now. So that I can use for next time.

3. I hope Apple can develop a fax software like this so we only need to pay one time fee.

Thank you for quick and useful help🙂

So not waiting!! Excellent diligence (and patience).

You will be waiting in vain for Apple to do what you want. Here's why:

  • FAX technology was doomed by email attachments
  • Apple discontinued built-in modems (required to enter the telephone system) (over?) a decade ago
  • Released an external 'dongle' - Apple USB 56Kb/14.4Kb modem - since also discontinued
  • Your iFax App must "Give You" a virtual phone number - like a telco so that it can live in the telco world (thus the $)
  • even web based "email > FAX" applications must also do likewise
  • Apple would also have to do likewise to create/release such an app = not enough $ !!!

I am curious as to what gear you have available to you. If you have a newer Multi-Function printer, it may well have a FAX built in. OS X can Print PDF to the fax function of the printer via direct connect or Wi-Fi

Look at =Finder > Help [MENU] > Mac Help (⌘ Command + ?) > search "Fax" for your system's detailed info if you think you have the gear required.

I was able to reset my password by going to http://www.ifaxapp.com/web

Click "Login".

Click "Forgot Password?"

Enter email.

Go to email and get numeric password reset code (good for 24 hours).

Return to iFaxApp.com/web and click Login.

Click "Reset Password"

Enter email, password reset code, and new password.

Now go back to your desktop app and enter your new password.
