How can I prevent my old e-mails from getting deleted when I delete them in freemail? How can I restore the ones already deleted now? Thanks for your help!

Hello! I don´t know if I have posted to the right community.

I use the apple mail program and freemail, a .....web.de e-mail adress. I deleted my old e-mails on the web.de website and everything that I had received during the past 3 months or so and wanted to keep was gone as well on my macbook. This never happened when I used to do the same on a PC and "the bat" as an e-mail program. The mails are still on my iphone.

Does anyone know how to prevent this and how to restore my lost e-mails now?
