pages on iCloud drive and pages app?

I have pages on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. My iPhone and iPad seem to sync automatically but the Pages 'app' on my Mac does not seem to, instead I have to sign into iCloud drive via Safari and enter pages 'beta' where it syncs 'live' to my iPhone etc. 😕

Why is it so complicated?

Or am I missing something?

Ok, I'm hoping you'll say I am missing something.

Your Mac will sync too, if you are running OS X Yosemite and enabled iCloud Drive. Then in System Preferences > iCloud, you need to be signed in, and check the items you want synced. In Documents and Data, there is an Options… button. If Pages is unchecked here, it will not sync with iCloud, and your other iDevices.

Confirm Pages is up to date: version 5.5.3?

Confirm you set Pages to work with iCloud: System Preferences > iCloud > iClud Drive Options > check mark next to Pages?
