How to Stop iMessage

So I recently went from an iPhone s4 to a Samsung Galaxy s6. When I traded my iPhone in, the guy turned off the iMessage. But I still wasn't getting any texts from people who use iPhones. I realized I still have iMessage on my Macbook Pro and all the texts I wasn't getting on my phone were there. How do I stop this?
