Software update slows start up

As a result of a software update prompt, I recently updated to Yosemite 10.10.3 and installed Yosemite Recovery Update version 1.0. Now my MacBook Pro 13 inch, which is less than a year old, is very slow to boot up. It did not have this problem before the update. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Repair permissions and restart your computer.

How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?

If you have Yosemite installed you need to change your profile because it is still showing using Mac OS X (10.6.8) as well as you should have posted in the Yosemite forum area instead of Snow Leopard.

You can always take advantage of your warranty before it runs out and take your comp to an Apple Store or an AASP.
