previously purchased movies will not download from the cloud. "unable to download" Plenty of juice and connected to wifi

Previously purchased movies suddenly reverted to the cloud, and now they will not download. Repeated attempts just time out with an error window "unable to download" with two option buttons - done and retry. Anyone?
