iMac running slow and hot

In last few days i have noticed the mac is running very slow. It also seems hot to touch. Just ran Etrecheck and these are the results. If anyone see's something could you please help out.

The major issue I see is that you have installed antivirus software on the machine. Not only is this totally unnecessary it may very well be the cause of your problems. OS X does not require third party tools such as antivirus apps, cleaning or other similar apps. If OS X is kept up-to-date (BTW...you should install 10.10.3 after uninstalling the antivirus) . There are no viruses in the wild for OS X and a very small amount of malware which may be avoided if you use a little common sense.


The common sense portion is never fall for an ad, e-mail or phone call that tells you the computer has been compromised in some way, these are SCAMs!!!!!!! NEVER use a torrent site to download anything, and that really is about it.


So to clean up your system, locate the Symantec uninstall instructions and follow them. Then run another EtreCheck report and look for any traces of Symantec, if you find any then it has not been completely uninstalled.


After that has been fully uninstalled then test the machine and tell us how it is working.
