NTP Security Update?

Yesterday (5/5/15), Apple released a description of an NTP Security Updatefor Yosemite, Mavericks and Mountain Lion. While there's no link for the actual update, for Mountain Lion, the download is here. It's clearly quite a bit older than yesterday's Support document.

For Mountain Lion, the update installs this version: ntp-77.1.1. The version you have can be determined by entering "what /usr/sbin/ntpd" in Terminal.

Oddly, when running that query, I get "PROGRAM:ntpd PROJECT:ntp-77.1.2" rather than 77.1.1. Assuming that higher version numbers are better, what's installed is better than what the updater would install, but Apple says "This update includes the following versions: Mountain Lion: ntp-77.1.1."

Anyone have any idea where ntp-77.1.2 came from? The ntpd files are in /usr/share/doc/ntp/ and most are dated 4/9/15, while the 77.1.1 version goes back to 12/22/14, the date of the Security Update. I don't have automatic updating turned on so 77.1.2 didn't sneak in that way.
