How to get Mac mini to recognize scanner function of Canon Pixma MX310? I downloaded drivers for both printer and scanner function from Canon website. The printer function is working. How to get Mac to recognize scanner.

Mac mini with OS X 10.8.5 operates Canon Pixma MX310 fine in printer mode, but will not recognize scanner function. I downloaded both printer and scanner drivers from Canon website. How to get computer to recognize the scanner? Carolyn

Maybe this will help

Yosemite and Canon MX310 scanner are incompatible

I don't have Yosemite. I have Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5. If the printer function works, I don't see why the scan function shouldn't work.

Have you tried using the OS X Image Capture in your Applications folder, instead of the Canon scan-ware...?
