family sharing??

When my husband and I purchased our new 6plus phones, we had the same Apple ID. We were getting each other's texts, and even phone calls (they would appear on both phones). After talking to an Apple sales associate at my local store, I signed my husband out of the shared ID, created a new ID, linked him to Family Sharing and he still got a text sent to my phone. I then unlinked his phone from the Family Sharing and the texts for me still came to his as well. How do I fix this?
