how to change the preferred language after having setup

How to change the preferred language back to English after having setup my iPad in Chinese Language?

The Chinese Names for the icons are difficult to guess.

Do I need to reset everything to factory standard and risk losing everything on my iPad in order to start again?

This option is very painful.

Hi. You may try to change it by clicking on the Settings icon. It looks like a gear. Here you may find detailed info with screenshots:Change the language on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

As an option you may reset all iPad settings.

This won't delete your data stored on device.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.
