I phone repair service for liquid damage

Sir/Mdm,

I want to know how long does it take for i phone repair service? First week of May i sent my i phone to authorize service center @ Singapore because my phone dropped inside water.When they open my phone they said liquid damage and i can't repair for it.That's why they asked to me need to pay S$550 for changing new phone.But i could not get new phone immediately,why?One of my friend happened same condition like that but she can get immediately and also they told me i can't get any data from my phone is it correct?

Plz inform back me as soon as possible quickly and hope also i can get good solution for it.
