How do I export a photo book project to pdf from the new photos app

There are two types of PDF files created by Photos: 1 - the one that is uploaded for printing with the dust jacket as a single, very wide paged; and 2 - the one that has each book page including the covers and flaps as separate PDF pages.

To get the one that's sent to Apple for printing hold down the Option key and click on the Buy button:

The first page (of the dust jacket) of the resulting PDF file will look like this:

To save a book as PDF select your book project in the projects and press the key combination ⌘P (for File > Print).

In the Print panel click the PDF button in the lower left corner.

Then select "Save as PDF".
