Selfie mode locks screen and camera not working

When I put the camera on the selfie mode the screen locks up with a fuzzy remnant of what the camera was seeing in normal mode and it locks up with no response when touched anywhere. I used the **** out of it on a recent trip to Europe where I purchased a selfie stick, so it was working two weeks ago.
