Q: Aperture library not migrating to Photos. Can't access any photos now.

I'm trying to move my Aperture library to Photos. The message is, "Preparing library...43% finished".  This has been going on for days.  To make matters worse.  I can't access any photos on Aperture.  I'd appreciate advice.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iLife 08

    I Am having the same kind of problem.   I stored the bulk of my iPhoto's on an external hard drive to save space on my iMac.  I literally just dragged the iPhoto folder to the external hard drive years ago to keep them backed Up.  Now with the new photos app  it will not open.  I have a appt with apple tomorrow to troubleshoot
