Q: Back To My Mac - only working on LAN

Hi, I have a Mac Mini setup at home online that I can access on my MBP using Back To My Mac. However it only shows up on my MBP when I am at home and on the same internet connection. How do I set it up so that I can access my Mac Mini from another location?

    Read this:

Set up and use Back to My Mac - Apple Support

And, if you need more help, please tell us the brand/model of router you're using.

    Possible problem areas

Your home router does not support UPnP or NAT-PMP (or it is not enabled).

You are running an anti-virus (or Little Snitch) and it is blocking network connections from outside your home (yes they have been know to do things like this).

The remote location is behind a restrictive firewall (such as a corporation firewall), which blocks these types of connections.

Your ISP is blocking this type of traffic (lowest probability).

Got through the pointer provided and make sure you have tried all the suggestions there.
