My iPhone 4S with IOS 8.3 paired and operated over bluetooth with my car phone/stereo/satnav.
My iPad with IOS 8.3 pairs with the same system, and plays music etc.
My iPhone 6 can't even pair with the system, but it can pair with some other devices, eg bluetooth speakers..
Does anyone know the nature of the differences in Bluetooth in iPhone 6? None are listed in the published info that I can see.
I have exhausted all the usual trouble-shooting with Apple Support, and their only conclusion is to refer it to the car system provider, and to pass the problem to their engineers, with no guarantee of a fix.
Other discussion groups show that many car systems have similar problems with iPhone 6. So I'd like to understand why there is insufficient backward compatibility to enable even simple pairing, let alone HFP, PBAP,MAP, AVRCP etc.The issue seems to be in the lower levels of the protocol stack.
