How do I remove an Apple Watch Source form Health App?

I recently got an Apple Watch and encountered some issues. In trying to troubleshoot the problem one of the steps tried was to reset the watch and pair it with the iPhone as new Apple Watch. As a result I now have two Apple Watch devices listed in the Sources of the Health application. The record for the first pairing says "This Apple Watch is no longer paired with this iPhone". All I seem to be able to do is view this status but I can't find a way to remove the record. I have tried the right to left swipe to bring up a delete option but that doesn't work. I have also looked around the Watch app and since that pairing is no longer active there is no way to access it there either. I then looked at Settings on the iPhone under Privacy > Heath and only apps are listed there not devices. How do I remove this source?

I am updated to iOS 8.3 on an iPhone 6

I'm new to the Apple watch too so forgive me if this sounds ridiculous. I've noticed on some settings for Apple watch and associated apps that they work with the "swipe left" to delete motion like deleting emails. Maybe try that?

Me too.

Contacted Apple Support.

They told me to back up the phone via iTunes and then restoring it.

It is the only solution. No swipe left and then remove button. Not built in yet.

Just figured this out...

Re-install the app (if not still installed).

Hold the screen to get the delete option. If you delete the app itself (I did 'remove data' but it shouldn't matter), the 2nd prompt should be to delete the data from the Health app. If you delete the health app data, it will depopulate as a source inside Health.

What app did you delete? There is no option to delete the Health app.

Hello,

As Leecka posted the only way is to first do a back up of your phone in Itunes....

(it does not matter that multiple watches are in health app)

I then did erase ALL content and settings

Then I restored from Itunes Back -up

BINGO ! then just repaired my watch and problem solved ..:)

This worked. I still see multiple versions of the watch in the health app (probably because I did an encry backup) but my phone is reading the steps from my watch so I'll take it....for now.

Just ran into a similar problem when I got my 2 gen Watch and IOS 10. Delete all the data from the source you wish to remove, and then stop the app(double click the home button and then swipe up the screen for any apps you wish to stop). When you restart it, the old devices will be gone.
