You mention that your Gmail account isn't refreshing on your new MacBook Pro. If you're not receiving email, the Mail Connection Doctor may help to identify the reason:
Mail Connection Doctor may be able to tell you more about the issue.
If you can’t send or receive email on your Mac, you can use Mail Connection Doctor to learn more about the issue. Mail Connection Doctor checks the status of your Internet connection and each of your email accounts.
Open the Mail app, then choose Window > Connection Doctor.
If Mail Connection Doctor identifies an issue, the information in the articles If you can’t send or receive email on your Mac and Use Mail Connection Doctor can help solve it.
