Is there a way to keep the dock on my IMAC visible all the time no matter what application / internet screen I'm on ?

If you're in full screen mode there is no way to keep the dock visible at all times.
Thanks Niel, but I "unchecked" the Automaticlly hide and show the dock. And the dock still does not show the dock all the time ? Other suggestions I am running on iMAC with the most current OS Yosemite version.
Get out of the full screen view and if it is still not there go to preferences and uncheck the "automatically" box.
There is somewhat of a work around. If you want to open a new App you can type Command + Spacebar and type in the app name. If your desire is to change to an app that is already running type Command + Tab and you will see all the apps currently running .
