Macbook pro runs hot after updating software

After the auto software update a few nights ago my computer is running hotter (up to 155 degrees so far) Battery is also draining faster. What changed with the new update that could cause this and how can I undo it? I installed smc fan controller to better manage the heat. Up until now my computer has never even been warm when many apps running at once. Now with only word open it hits 155. It's a 15 macbook pro purchased new in Feb. 2015.

Not helpful. I'm aware of how the computer functions. Over night, when auto update ran and updated the OS something changed causing my computer to run much hotter that it ever has. Before the update I could run word, CAD, Safari, and Excel at once with no heat. Now using only one program I'm hitting over 150 degrees. No new apps. Nothing has changed EXCEPT the auto update that ran over night.

This procedure will erase all your settings in the Network preference pane. Back up all data before you begin, and recreate the settings afterwards.

Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ Reveal

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "SystemConfiguration" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password.

Restart the computer and empty the Trash.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
