May 9, 2015 2:06 PM in response to Linc Davisby joshuachesler,Not helpful. I'm aware of how the computer functions. Over night, when auto update ran and updated the OS something changed causing my computer to run much hotter that it ever has. Before the update I could run word, CAD, Safari, and Excel at once with no heat. Now using only one program I'm hitting over 150 degrees. No new apps. Nothing has changed EXCEPT the auto update that ran over night.

May 10, 2015 8:17 AM in response to Linc Davisby joshuachesler, discoveryd / mDNSResponder is using 100% cpu. When I quit the process my computer temp drops 50 degrees. Next day the discoveryd / mDSNResponder is back on and temps are up again. Before the update it was never an issue. Seems as tho theres glitch with the update causing discoveryd / mDNSResponder to work too hard. How can I fix?

May 10, 2015 9:00 AM in response to joshuacheslerby Linc Davis,This procedure will erase all your settings in the Network preference pane. Back up all data before you begin, and recreate the settings afterwards.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "SystemConfiguration" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password.
Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
