I am afraid to delete my temp files when using contribute 6.5

and don't know how to do it on a Macair. Prior community instructions for contribute 6.5 said I should delete temp files because changes in contribute were showing unless I leave the program and re-enter. Will I lose all of my cookies?

I use chrome most of the time because safari was so incompatible with Gmail.
