After downloading a podcast is it necessary to select "add to on the go"? Also, where is the best place to go to learn more about my phone?

It sounds like you have questions about the On the Go playlist and want to learn more about your phone. The On the Go playlist is not necessary. According to the following article when you add items to it and play it back it will play back the podcasts in the order that they show in the list.
